Pyrite is also known as fool's gold, it's name "pyrite" is after the Greek "pyr" meaning "fire." because it sparks. Pyrite is considered the most common of the sulfide minerals. Its luster is metallic. It's a 6 – 6.5 on Moh's hardness scale. This amazing mineral looks almost identical to gold. Finally, a very cool fact about both pyrite and gold is that they can form together and blend.
