Can somebody give me insight

Hi I’m very new to collecting and learning about rocks, gems and minerals. I was wondering if you can give me some insight about this turquoise a family member had giving me a little while ago. unfortunately that family member has passed and no one in my family knows anything about it. Where is it from and what’s its value and anything else I should know about it. Thank you for your time.

A beautiful piece of turquoise.

There are many varieties of turquoise each one comes from a different place. That is about all that I know about turquoise. Much of it comes from New Mexico.
